Together, we can provide older adults the support that they deserve.

The Center in Action

A team of volunteers hard at work serving the older adult population. Our volunteers are awesome!

Many people don't realize that many older adults in the U.S. struggle every day to be heard, seen, and cared for. They lack support systems, daily social interactions, access to healthy foods, and more.

Everyone deserves to live out their life in health, happiness, dignity, and independence.

We work hard every day to advocate for and provide resources to older adults.

Our programs help to nourish seniors physically, mentally, and emotionally so that they can be empowered to live healthy and happy lives.

Don't just take our word for it. Hear what our participants have to say:

Marion, 71 years old

"I spent 6 months in the hospital and assisted living after I broke both lower legs. Meals on Wheels has allowed my husband to stress less in keeping me fed for at least one meal a day."

Anna, 81 years old

"Meals on Wheels has helped me not have to cook on days that I don't feel up to it. I can no longer stand for more than 15 minutes without back pain.

There can be several days during a week that I have no contact with anyone so getting to see the kind volunteers who deliver my meals is wonderful."

Mary, 71 years old with Gary, 85 years old

"I am the sole caregiver for my husband with severe memory problems. I was having surgery and needed help with meals. I am exhausted most of the time from my medical issues so Meals on Wheels helps us so much. It has helped us have a meal when we don’t feel well – which is often.

Meals on Wheels is a life-saver. Thank you so very much. You each make our life easier and brighter.”

“I signed up for Meals on Wheels because my husband died and I could hardly look at the table. Jim loved to eat and according to him every meal was 'really good' and that was really not true. Someone suggested Meals on Wheels because I was not eating anything that was really good for me.

I am enjoying Meals on Wheels and I feel much better.”

Erma, 92 years old

Marilyn, 80 years old with LaVerne, 79 years old

"I signed up for Meals on Wheels because I was needing some way of making my life as [my husband’s] caregiver not quite so overwhelming. Friends encouraged me to sign us up for Meals on Wheels who knew our situation. I have enjoyed being able to enjoy some foods and recipes that I wouldn’t buy or make for myself, such as the pumpkin pudding which reminds me of the pumpkin puddings my mom used to make.

Thank you for your ministry of providing meals for us seniors. It has made my life a little simpler and not so overwhelming not having to make 3 meals every day myself.”

We are the roots of a full support system for seniors:

  • We provide healthy and delicious meals to ensure every senior has access to proper nutrition;

  • We organize programs that promote socialization, entertainment, and physical movement to keep seniors sharp, connected, and mobile;

  • We offer safe referrals for those seeking resources beyond our scope.

We need your help.

Our older community members need our help more than ever. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought to light the inequities that seniors face every day. Now is our chance to show that we care.
